Preparations are well under way for the Spring meeting in Chicago. Joe Losee and the scientific program committee are putting the finishing touches to what promises to be another terrific meeting. Joe has a separate report in this newsletter. I want to address the evolving position that the Association has taken a lead in being as transparent as possible with our conflicts of interest. Last year we required that every presenter had to put up a slide that disclosed any financial interest over $2,500.00. This year we are requiring that everyone whose name is on a presentation, not just the presenter, list financial interests over $2,500.00. The amount and the entity involved must be on a slide at the beginning of the presentation. More

Colleagues, it is my distinct honor to serve as Program Chair for the Association's 99th Annual meeting. Our meeting this year will take place May 2-5, 2020, in Chicago, at the historic, landmark Palmer House Hotel. I would like to thank the entire Program Committee, who are currently "hard at work" reviewing the submitted scientific abstracts and selecting the breakfast breakout topics. I would particularly like to thank Drs. Jim Grotting and Rick Warren for Chairing the Aesthetic Symposium, as well as Drs. Mike Neumeister and Joe Disa, who are Chairing the Reconstructive Symposium. This year’s meeting promises to provide yet another great educational experience, with leaders in their respective subspecialties providing cutting edge knowledge. More

The workshop is intended to improve the skills of and increase the resources for Program Directors and Surgical Educators in Plastic Surgery. This year's retreat is focused on "Improving Education in Global Health." A detailed program, registration, and housing information is available on the ACAPS Website.
AAPS encourages all members to consider service on an AAPS committee. Please take a look at the committee list and contact the Administrative office if you are interested in serving on a committee next year. View 2019-2020 Committees
