Cannon Student Scholarship
The American Association of Plastic Surgeons, founded in 1921, is the oldest organized Plastic Surgery organization in the world. Its Annual Meeting is the academic highlight of our specialty and we welcome students to participate each year through the Cannon Scholarship.
The more senior members (e.g. retired) of AAPS (Cannon Society) meet annually in conjunction with the meeting, which will be held April 29th – May 2nd, 2023 at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago, Illinois. To nurture your interest in plastic surgery, some of the Cannon members, in combination with the AAPS, will sponsor thirty-five (35) medical students to attend the Annual meeting each year.
If chosen, sponsorship includes free registration, meals normally supplied during the meeting to attendees (including the President's Dinner) and two nights in the host hotel. You will be responsible for your transportation to and from the meeting.
To better serve the students of plastic surgery this scholarship is limited to M2’s and M3’s. Please note those who have submitted an abstract to the meeting and accepted for presentation will not be eligible for this scholarship.
In addition, although the deadline is December 1st, we are limiting the number of applications. All applications we receive after the 75 application limit will be added to a wait list.

As originally mentioned there was a 75 applicant maximum and we are pleased to announce we have hit our 75 application limit. Please note the deadline is still December 1st and we will still be accepting applications, and we encourage you to still apply. All applications we receive now through December 1st will be added to a wait list. Once abstract acceptances are sent out the list will be reviewed and those ineligible will be removed and the waitlist will be adjusted based on the date and time of submission.
